Snow-Tac Model 24 Soldier Hollow Handle Survival Knife in 80CRV2 aka M24 "Soldier" for it is truly made military tough!  M24 shown above is #08 with 7-1/2" x 1-1/2" blade made from.270" blade stock water cooled aggressive primary hollow grinds the knife is razor sharp and stays razor sharp! Made with our all new and improved #1 vintage style enhanced serrations towers & lower gullets.    Made with strongest tang attachment ever!  2"long .270" blade stock, 3/4" wide. The massive tang runs from the shoulders into the hollow  handle a full 2" takes up over 1/3 of the handle tube!  Locked out with a 1/4" round x 3/4" wide military grade titanium pin, cold welded with 5000 psi steel reinforced epoxy.  The tangs are tapered into the shoulders,  in addition to superior strength the longer tang makes the knife more balanced and it feels and indexes like a full tang knife. We still leave you room in the handle for your small survival items. We recommend a ferrous fire rod.   All STK Knives are double heat treated to a hard glass and then double tempered to bring down hardness to insane work loads.  M24 is a extreme combat first fighter knife second bush craft hollow handle survival knife. You got 20 degree secondary cutting edges on your Phrobis M9 bayonets/Lile/Randall and most other combat and survival knives. We give you better cutting abilities with our 10-15 degree!   #2 STK type primaries:  aggressive hollow grind down to zero straight razor blade profile for combat/self-defense and light bushcraft.  You won't find a large volume knife manufactured  with aggressive hollow grinds down to straight razor zero as it's more expensive to produce.  We do them on our #2 primary water cooled hollow grinds like on our Model 24 Soldier with our custom made 1/2 hp slow speed 10" wheel grinder/sander/polisher.

Snow-Tac Alpha Tracker #04 in 1075 was sold to New York buyer all STK Alpha Trackers are serial number stamped on the bottom of the integral guards.  

All subsequent STK Alpha Trackers will be made with updated 1/2" longer handles to 14-3/4" ov. length.  It's exact same blade profile we've been making them with blade and integral guard and contoured handle we're just adding 1/2" to the multi-function pommel end length. 

  

STK Survival Master Emergency Response Knife SMERK stamped "SMERK" 5160  Full Tang Clip Point Bowie Survival Knife,  this is a  2015 Prototype Knife with up swept clip point an earlier Snow-Tac Knife made a few years back with the gnarly serrations, we have the template for this knife and so any subsequent ones built with this model would have our #2 Counter-Sawback Serrations and be made with 80CRV2 .270" blade stock and the clip point is straight line to point.   This one is 5160 .250" blade stock 1-3/4" wide 8-1/4" blade with up swept clip point Integral Guard 2-1/4" survival holes.  5-1/4" paracord wrapped handle with pry-bar pommel end.  Sandblasted and then silica ceramic black coating.  Gnarly serrations for total shred notching.  Made with aggressive 7/8" wide primary hollow grinds and no secondary cutting edge as it has straight razor primaries down to zero = straight razor cutting edge!  Possible with our slow to medium speed 10" wheel grinder.  Comes with custom real cowhide leather sheath.  Try beating it into submission and see if you can break it!  If you would like we can flex-seal rubber coat the paracord wrap handle just let us know if you would like that done.  The Snow-Tac SMERK SURVIVAL KNIFE!  AVAILABLE!  $425

The STK custom handmade Model 24 Soldier in 80CRV2 with custom 1-1/2" titanium combat spike.  Snow-Tac Knives is currently making various screw in pommel titanium spike weapons that screw right into the pommel end of the M24 handle.  1-1/2" -2-1/4" needle point titanium spikes.  These now get pre-drilled and 2-1/2" x  1/4" real "titanium" steel rod is inserted and cold welded into the steel pommel end piece.  You can tell real titanium steel rods will have a shiny satin look to it.  These titanium steel rods are sharpened to a menacing and deadly needle point!   Store your titanium spike in your survival pouches.

At Snow-Tac Knives, we redefine craftsmanship with our true handmade custom built hollow handle survival knives as well as full tang models.  More full tang models coming soon!    Nestled in the heart of wooded countryside just south of Thunderbird Lake in Southeastern Oklahoma, our blades are more than tools; they are masterpieces of precision and artistry. From meticulously handmade full tang combat knives, hollow handle survival knives to unique "restomods" each blade tells a story of dedication and expertise and totally handmade.  We also fabricate our handmade knife guards and pommel ends out of high quality commercial gold-bronze alloy.  Our hollow handle survival knives are essentially hybrid hollow handle knives as the tangs take up 1/3 of the handle tube so they index and feel like a full tang knife and are much better balanced all around.  Locked out with a 1/4" x  3/4" titanium pin and the complete tang and titanium pin is pressure pressed with steel reinforced 5000 psi epoxy around the huge 3/4" wide x .270" thick tang and completely around the titanium cross pin that runs through the end of the tang. There's still enough room for your small survival items in the hollow handle tube, we recommend a ferro rod and package vaseline cotton swabs for quickly starting a wellness fire.   We also understand the critical stress point is between the shoulders of the tangs so to this end we taper the tangs up into the shoulders of the knife blade. The bottom line?   Our knives are unmatched for mechanical tang connection strength to the hollow handle survival knife tube not to mention beautiful profiled bevels and razor sharp cutting edges!   We pay just as much attention to detail on our blades as we do our enhanced tang attachments. We do focus a lot on our hollow handle survival knives however we want to also lead the way for the best full tang knives so enter the (Snow-Tac Alpha Tracker) aka "The Tank" 1.8-2lbs of 5160 spring steel and or 1075 high carbon high manganese steel.  It's literally a personal wrecking ball!   Watch for other Snow-Tac full tang models coming soon! 


  Each Snow-Tac knife is individually serial numbered on the bronze guard and or the blade, steel used stamped on the blade, makers mark stamped on the blade and or the guards, and no two are exactly alike as even though it's same model there's always little differences with each knife having its own soul and character. We like to cut-in the choils using different variations and angles in that way it just gives the knife it's own character and identity.   Our knives are logged , the serial number is on the bronze handguards and or on the lower integral tangs, model stamped on the bronze guard , steel used stamped on the blades.  We log the state location and buyers names.  We currently have knives in Texas, Colorado, Nevada, Missouri, California, Washington State, New York and one in Europe.     All knife blades are double heat treated and then double tempered.  Thank you for visiting Snow-Tac Knives!        



Thoughts from Snowman

"So I started making knives for myself and my collection, it was never really about selling them.  Folks started inquiring and yes I've sold a few and it would be cool to sell some more but honestly that's not a priority to me, I just really enjoy the artistic and creation part of making knives.  Now that I'm a retired veteran I find it relaxing getting out in my modest shop and working on knife projects, so when I make a knife I will always put 110% into every build!   For the time being we've created this website with info and prices.   My goal is to make it insanely tough, strong as hell, functional and beautiful with attention to detail along the way.  Each knife goes through my grueling almost obsession like quality control.    I get inspired by knife makers like Randall, Lile, Steve Allen with Running River Knives, Chris Reeve Knives, Beck, Martin, Marfione and Robert Parrish to name a few.  I also admire Japanese makers with SOG full tang combat knives, SOG Seki-Japan knives are my favorite full tang combat knives!  They're not made for being field knives, strictly self-defense, reconnaissance and special operations.  Gerber Silver Trident and Cold Steel Combat Models I also like very well.  So when I do make a full tang knife it's usually my Alpha Tracker, MACV-SOG Vietnam Tribute Combat Knife or my SOG Black-Ops full tang Combat Knife.   However, for now  I prefer to specialize in my custom handmade hollow handle survival knife models, ever since the original Rambo movie came out I've just always been a sucker for hollow handle survival knives, they're just super cool and totally interesting not to mention fun to collect and make. You will find I don't get in a hurry when making one of my custom handmade knives as sometimes it can take me long as 30 days to make as I view making it as an artist piece that's totally functional and beautiful tool. However most of the time they're completed much sooner, it usually takes me 2-4 days to cut out the knife and do the bevels however the its the rest of the process that takes up time.  I have a number point checkoff list  I'll add that here sometime.  As for hollow handle survival knives my goal is to change the negative connotations that some survival knife enthusiasts feel about hollow handle knives when it comes to the knife's strength and abilities. I believe I can and will make my hollow handle survival knives to be way stronger than ones of the past.   The bottom line is I want mine to be known as the strongest, artistically beautiful and formidable knives on the planet!     Snowman

Snow-Tac Knives 20 point checkoff list: 

#1 Cut out knife blank

#2 Grind the outer blade to knife specs matching template

#3 Cut tang to size to spec and drill holes

#4 Sand outer blade smooth 

#5 sharpie for score line and bevel lines

#6  Start hogging primaries and clip point bevels 4-1/2" hand held angle grinder with water cooling  90% of the bevels are completed here.

#7 Work primary bevels and clip point bevels hogging off metal on the medium speed 10" wheel sander/grinder 40 grit. Also we do at least 10 jewelers glasses inspections here to make sure plunge lines are perfectly centered.

#8 Worked the primary grinds up to tip, horizontal hogging on a slow speed grinder 40 grit utilizing jewelers glasses to this end centering  the grind line on each side of the blade that bifurcates from the clip point and the lower grind to perfectly center with the tip. 

#9  Finish primary and clip point bevels with the 10" wheel utilizing 180 grit then 400 grit then 800 grit

#10 Cut in Choil

#11 cut in serrations to completion STK specs

#12 Do all blade stampings while blade still annealed

#13 Heat Treatment double heat treatment to glass check for hardness with file

#14 Wire wheel the blade and clean, re-sand and polish whole blade

#15 Double temper the blade in controlled oven to STK temp specifications for 1hr allow to cool Heat blade 2nd time another 1hr allow to cool 

#17 Re-polish the blade and or do STK custom sandblasting procedures.  Our sandblasting is amazing!   We can't reveal what aluminum oxide grit size we're currently using and or our oil sealing process that seals in the color but these are far superior sandblasting finish than glass bead mesh.  Produces a beautiful grey crystalline satin grey finish that lasts!  Our STK Alpha Tracker gets silica ceramic black coated over our sandblasting.  Eventually you'll see an all black M24 Soldier combat hollow handle survival knife with satin color aluminium handguard!  Also an all black Bushman CUK with aluminum EOD handguard.  

#18 Perform factory secondary cutting edges on 10" wheel with 180 grit then 400 grit, exact same process K-Bar Knives performs!   10-15 degree angles for razor sharp secondary edges with blades left with (1/16" meat) and for straight razor hollow grinds down to zero we do 5-10 degree factory new cutting edges angling the blade to as low as you can go to right before breeching finish.  The secret now to our beautiful primary grind/ upper clip point grinds as well as our drop point models which includes  our new factory secondary cutting edges  is our slower speed 1/2hp motor 10" wheel sander/grinder and spray water cooling.   The thing is the grinds don't get as hot with our 10" knife wheel grinder this machine was custom built by master engineer Don Snow retired from Sunbelt Industries Oklahoma City.  

#19 Fit n Finish also this phase is where we attach the hollow handle tube with our (stk-enhanced mechanical hold tang attachment system)  the longest tang attachment, widest and locked out with a titanium pin and completely pressure sealed with epoxy resin.  The handguards are set first to our hollow handle knife tangs.  Remember Snow-Tac Knives did it first!  Nobody goes deeper, nobody makes them wider, thicker or stronger!   

#20 More fit n finish 

It's taken us sometime to create our check off list and it's what we use now on each custom handmade Snow-Tac Knife!  We also have each blade and knife get inspected by two other family members for quality control.

This beautiful tribute combat knife features a full tang 6-7/8" 1095 blade made with aggressive hollow grinds and this one has the enhanced penetration sharp upper clip point  , 4-3/4" handle, 1/4" thick. 

The STK tangs are wider at 3/4"    Stacked leather and colored spacers. Custom made STK bronze handguard with 1/4" survival holes and the bronze pommel is locked with a titanium pin.    These are apart of the  STK SOG Knives Vietnam SAGA Line and these initial knives are all low count as they're individually numbered.

 STK SOG Pommel Ends are made with larger 3/4" x 1/4" tangs which run to the end and through the bronze pommel end piece, they're locked with a titanium pin.  The whole end is broad and wide and can be utilized for improvised hammering.  Our favorite features are the unique corner angled lanyard holes and the 1/4" tactical holes through the handguards. At some point Snow-Tac Knives will focus on making more of these STK SOG Knife Vietnam Saga Line.  We're wanting at least 50 of these made and all will be individually number stamped on the bottom of the bronze pommel end. 

Navy Seal Tough!  Snow-Tac AC-2025 80CRV2 Advanced Combat Hollow Handle Survival Knife 

Razor sharp 7/8" wide primary hollow grinds with a 6-3/4" combat clip point blade profile, our tangs on this model are 2" in length from the shoulders of the knife blade x .270" thick x 3/4" wide locked out with a 1/4" titanium steel pin then steel reinforced cold weld epoxy rated at 5000 psi is pressure sealed down into the rest of the lower tang pressing into the threads and surrounding the massive tang and titanium steel pin. This massive tang takes up over 1/3 of the hollow handle tube!  Still leaves you room for your little survival trinkets and you now possess a hell of a strong hollow handle survival knife that will truly..... kick ass! They literally feel and index like a full tang knife.

We do plan on making more of these and offering them here on our website as we're in the process of locating the vintage hollow hand tube with cap and ring, handguard and spikes.  We've located and secured one set however were trying to build up our hollow handle parts supply over the course of the next year.  Please be patient but you'll see more of these STK restomods turned AC-2025!  

  

Original vintage blade shown on bottom with its pathetic tang, 440 stainless and less than 1/8" thick.  Above is a custom handmade artisan blade profiled STK blade in high carbon-vanadium steel  80CRV2 .270" 6.9mm thick blade stock with enhanced STK tang .270" thick x 2" long x 3/4" wide tang with 1/4" x 3/4" "titanium" round bar pin awaiting attachment and 5000 psi steel reinforced epoxy resin.  

Snow-Tac Model Bushman CUK #09 "Combat Utility Knife" hollow handle survival knife in high carbon-vanadium-chromium 80CRV2 steel, .270" blade stock, beautiful 6" artisan blade profiling aggressive sabre hollow grinds and sharpened upper combat clip point.  This knife features 10 degree razor sharp secondary cutting edge.  This knife went through double heat treatment and double temper, the cutting edge is super hard, razor sharp and will just keep on cutting and cutting! 

 STK's enhanced tang attachment system .270" x 3/4" tang will be mounted 1-3/4" from the shoulders locked out with a titanium pin, liquid cold welded with 5000 psi steel reinforced  epoxy.  This is the 9th custom handmade Snow-Tac Hollow Handle Survival Knife to date.  All STK knives are individually numbered with stamped makers mark, year, steel used and the number of the knife will be on the bronze handguard.  All Snow-Tac Knives are logged and registered. 

This knife will fit into a Spec-Ops Knife Sheath Combat Master Tactical Sheath "short".  Starting Aug 1 2025 all STK Custom Knives will come with a tactical nylon sheath these have the plastic inserts.  The models M24 Soldier,  M23 Storm and Bushman CUK custom handmade knives will come with a Spec-Ops Brand Combat Master Tactical Nylon Sheath starting after Aug 1.  We're trying to workout a deal for bulk order with Spec-Ops Brand Knife Sheaths


  This knife will be professionally sandblasted grey oxide satin finish again prior to shipping due to any handling marks as we tend to index and hold them a lot!

What is a restomod knife?

Restomod knives are modernized restorations and upgrades on classic designs, merging tradition with better made USA high carbon steels and or stronger robust tangs for enhanced performance.  We're hoping to do more ResoMods into a unique STK modernized knife model with our enhanced tangs creating an insanely strong hollow handle survival knife!  These will become a STK modern  model based off of the original design as will use the original handle & cap and handguard with spikes. Most other vintage knife projects will be basic restorations and refinishing.
